Looking down Princes Street, Dunedin, from the Bank of NSW, showing part of the harbour, the flat and the sandhills in the distance. St Clair Hill is in the right background. The original Mechanics Institute can be seen in the centre of the image, and the first Presbyterian Manse is on the hill to the left. There is a bullock team pulling a cart laden with boxes and cloth. There is also a cart laden with building materials near the corner of the street. Taken by an unidentified photographer in 1861.
