Ad class steam locomotive 602, type 4-6-2, built by A & G Price, Thames, NZ. Photograph taken at the Petone Railway Workshops in May 1923 by Albert Percy Godber.
Original print in Godber Album PA1-q-101 (Vol 108, page 80)
This engine, listed as Ad 602 in the caption with the original print (see Other notes), entered service in 1914, and was written off in February 1969. (Information from the 'Register of New Zealand Steam Locomotives 1863-1971' by W G Lloyd, 1974, page 67, where it is listed as A 602)
