Description

This cartoon is about Auckland Mayor Sir Dove-Meyer Robinson's plan to have a rapid rail and bus service in Auckland derailed by Wellington bureaucrats. The cartoon also shows Auckland beating Wellington in the Ranfurly Shield. The lower scenes feature an angry Dove-Meyer but the last scene shows him negotiating for Wellington's approval by doing a deal including the Ranfurly Shield and Bryan Williams (rugby player) and John Walker (athlete). The system was never adopted
