Description

View looking north along Moeraki Beach, with round boulders along the beachline. An inset detail showing Mantell or one of his companions standing alongside a particularly large boulder. Also diary notes for October 29, 1848 discussing conditions at Moeraki. Mentions dirty conditions and Māori-Pākehā children, including Mary Haberfield, aged 9 or 10 and Neddy Thomon, whom they persuaded to help with carrying their baggage.
