Description

Soldiers pose beside water tanks at Shrapnel Gully, Gallipoli, during World War I. Photograph taken between May and June 1915 by Frederick Llewellyn Price.

Inscriptions: Album page - beneath image - Gallipoli 1915. Water tanks. Shrapnel Gully. One pint per man. Water tanks in Shrapnel Gully filled each night with water brought from Malta and Egypt and packed by mules and Indians. Allowance, one pint per day.
