- Description
Seated portrait of a Maori woman (named Huna Rangi ?) photographed circa 1900 by Frank J Denton of Wanganui. She looks at the camera and holds (a book?) in one hand. She is wearing a pale coloured, long sleeved, blouse, and a full length dark coloured skirt. She wears earrings, a brooch at her neck, and a ring on her wedding finger. The medieval style wooden chair in which she sits is ornately carved, with velvet arm rests. It is alongside a wicker plant stand supporting a potted fern.
