View looking up Queen Street taken from a high vantage point to the right of the General Post Office and the Waverley Hotel in lower Queen Street. The Thames Hotel can be seen in the foreground on the left and Sandford Ltd on the right. Identifiable buildings further up Queen Street are the Waitemata Hotel, Smeeton's Building, New Zealand Insurance Co Ltd, and JCL (John Court Ltd). Partington's Windmill can be seen on the horizon. A large number of people and trams are in the immediate foreground near to the Thames Hotel and Post Office. Taken by William A Price in the early 1900s.
