Description

Head and shoulder profile portrait of Te Rangihaeata, wearing two feathers including a peacock feather in his top-knot, a scallop shell ear adornment and a fine flax cloak. Copied from drawings fowarded by Mr Joseph Greaves of Nelson.

Engraving first mentioned (as being for sale as a separate engraving or lithograph) in an advertisement in the Hobart Town Courier, October 1843, as 'Taken from life by Mr Cootes, artist'
