Description

View of Manners Street, Wellington, looking towards the corner of Manners and Willis Streets. The storefront signage of the jewellery store owned by Victor Brownson can be seen, as can part of the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel and Perrett's Corner. There are cars and trams travelling along Manners Street. There is a truck owned by the Hygenic Towel Supply Ltd parked in Manners Street, facing away from the photographer. The clock on the left at 13 Manners Street was made in 1867 by Charles Campbell, the first clock made in New Zealand. The iron work was done by a foundry in Manners Street. The clock was removed when the building was demolished in 1935.
