Description

Bishop William Williams' house at Waerengaahika after the 1865 battle with Pai Marire followers. Photographer unidentified.

Note on back of file print reads "Bishop William Williams' house at Waernga-a-hika after fighting with the Hauhaus in 1865. The part of the building in the right background was the old house which had been moved from Whakato. It was later used as a residence by the farmer who leased the estate and was burnt down while he occupied it."
