A road across a grassed flat surface, made of logs lying side by side. Tree stumps surround the road with bush just beyond and on the left are a Maori family, a tent and two European men, one on horseback. Another Maori man is seated alongside the road, between two tree stumps, holding a long slim branch in the air.
