Description

The Auckland Fire Brigade at drill in Beresford Street using the 85 foot Simon's ladder. A fireman is sitting on the end of the ladder as it is being lowered to the ground. Other firemen and onlookers are standing on the street watching. Pitt Street Methodist Church is in the background. The construction site shed of J T Julian & Son, contractors, with a pile of rubble behind, can be seen in the middle foreground. Builders are working on the construction site to the left.
