View across the flat land alongside Lake Omapere, the site of Puketutu Pa, a battle site in May 1845. Probably drawn a little after the war, since there is no sign of the Pa and cattle are grazing on the site. Lake Omapere is to the right. Compare another view by Williams of this same spot in the course of the battle (Okaihou, May 8th 1845, A-079-029)
