A poor man glumly watching a second-hand dealer who is saying 'I gif you two bob' and holding up a pair of the man's trousers. The dealer's doorway is visible and bears the sign 'I. Solomon Dealer. Old Clothes Bought.' The cartoon suggests that the dealer is Jewish and not English-born as well as being parsimonious
