New Zealand premier Richard Seddon, holding a medicine bottle labelled 'treasury', is feeling the pulse of a stout gentleman who represents South Island railway development, while a battered cripple, representing North Island railway development sits by, unregarded.
Extended Title - Dr Seddon - 'Ah, my boy, pulse too quick. Well, this will cure you, but you must put your FAITH in my treatment, or you will become as that other poor wretched creature yonder, who will not listen to me enough to save his life.'
