Shows architect W. E. Lavelle seated behind a draughting table, smoking a pipe. Behind him, on a wall, is an architectural plan for a factory.
Dated with regard to subject's life-dates, and comparison with portrait by Nevile Sydney Lodge, at A-279-037.
The donor believes the work dates from the early 1950s.
