Historical notes and date provided by library client, August 2010.

Date determined from locomotives. That parked beside the turntable is a Garratt G Class locomotive which did not arrive in this area until March/April 1929, and remained in service until late 1935. The 3rd locomotive above the G Class Garratt is a K Class locomotive. The first of this class was completed in November 1932 (Information from Trevor Cheer. Reference, `Register of NZR steam locomotives,' W G Lloyd.)
