View of St Mary's Anglican Church, Karori, taken by an unidentified photographer in 1977, soon after it was declared an historic building

Caption on back of file print reads: St Mary's Anglican Church in Karori Road, which has been declared a building of historic interest by the Wellington City Council. The Italian-style roughcast church was opened in 1931, with extensions in 1926 and 1966. When the church was built, a Wellington newspaper described it as being "in perfect harmony with its environment". It features a square lantern tower, windows rounded at the top, and the interior is of plaster walls with dark wooden beams and arches.
