Black covered volume has `na Tamihana' (by Tamihana) on inside front cover, it also has Gilbert Mair's signature. This is a book of karakia (prayers) in Maori. The second volume is unsigned. It is dated on the second page July 18 1865. This contains information about the Chatham Islands and includes census figures, and lists of names etc.
