- Description
Comprises 32 letters by Potocki with four replies by Reynolds and one from Kathleen Foot, an associate of Potocki. Potocki's letters, mostly written from Draguignan in the Var, France, range over his political and literary concerns, with information (and invoices for) his publications, and gossip and invective on related topics. Reynolds replies in kind, with comments on Denis Glover, Fairburn and others; the correspondence culminates in a letter in which Reynolds, exasperated with Potocki's politics and complaints that `a great tohunga like me' should be so `monstrously treated', bows out with an imprecation in verse to which Potocki responds with finality.
