Shows a view from a hilltop across bush-clad hills towards snow-clad Mount Tongariro. The view is from the site of Matuku Pa
Mr Randall Springer of the Whanganui Historical Society has identified this as a view in the Mokai Patea Range east of Utiku, rather than Patea in Taranaki.
Identified by Richard Steedman, November 2003, as one of five views taken from Matuku Pa, inland Patea, on 13 March 1845. The five sketches are E-296-q-162, -091-8, -093-1, -093-3 and -095-1
