View of south crater, the termination of the Rotomahana rent, taken in November 1886, after the Tarawera eruption of 10 June 1886 by George Dobson Valentine.
In 1970 this photograph was lent to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, New Plymouth, for inclusion in the travelling exhibition "Nineteenth Century New Zealand photographs".
