Description

Collection consists of the journal of Alfred Bluck covering his voyage from England to Lyttelton on the `Zealandia', 31 August - 8 December 1863, active service as a Taranaki Volunteer 1863-1866 & farming at Tuakau to 1867; Edgar Bluck's journal, June 1888-April 1889 written as a letter to his brother Frederick recounting his travels in Queensland & gold-mining in New Guinea; one photograph of Agnas Bluck, one letter from Lucy Bluck, 1 March 1877, to the Secretary of the Canterbury Board of Education requesting equipment for the newly-opened Harrisville School where she was the first teacher; pamphlet, Harrisville school centennial 1877-1977.
