Shows Te Toru wearing a flax tag cloak and white feathers in his hair, holding a taiaha in his right hand. He is standing beside a rocky shore.

Compare this head with portrait of same chief attributed to Samuel Leigh in Methodist Mission London, but entitled Tabooha. Read would have drawn Te Toru in Sydney. Te Toru travelled with Cruise between Sydney and New Zealand
The portrait has been misidentifed for many years as showing Titore Paki (d. 1837)
