Haast, Johann Franz Julius von, 1822-1887: [Land and water-level profile. June 1865?]

Date
1865
Reference
C-097-070-1
Description

A cross-section of a small area of low-lying land with lakes or harbours, flanked by two hills, the sea level marked to the right.

On the back of a drawing of the terminal face of the Franz Joseph Glacier. May show an area of land on the West Coast, or part of Canterbury. The flat land appears too narrow to suggest the Canterbury Plains between the foothills of the Southern Alps and Banks Peninsula
