A tui on a branch, its head turned to catch an insect, drawn from a specimen taken back to England by Captain Cook after his second voyage to New Zealand

The first example of the artist and engraver's invention of the process of printing mezzotints in colour. There are only 6 known copies of the colour mezzotint, with a variant, hand-coloured engraving, published in London by J. Sharpe in 1786, held in the Mitchell Library, Sydney.
