Description

Copy photograph taken circa 1920s by Leo White, of the the crowd that turned out to witness the official opening of The Auckland Electric Tramways Company new services on November 17th 1902. This particular view shows the conductor on the rear platform of the tram resetting the trolley pole to the overhead and the interest by the crowd in that. Location is the intersection of Queen and Customs Streets. Original photographer unknown.
