The interior of Putiki Pa, Whanganui River, showing groups of people, storehouses and eating and sleeping houses, dogs, the palisades of the pa in the background, trees and hills beyond. Based on a now lost oil painting by Gilfillan

The draughts board shown is said to have been given to Maori by Captain Cook.
