House and gardens at Takatahi, Kawhia, photographed in 1859 by Bruno Hamel. Two whare may be seen withing the grounds of the house, and another in the middle distance. Vegetable gardens may be seen at the back of the house, to the left of the picture. There is erosion on the hills in the background.
This image appears in a similar album held by the Auckland Institute and Museum, with the caption "Takatahi Kawhia". A photovcopy of this album is held at PAColl-1637.
