In the upper part of the cartoon New Zealand politician Robert Semple, watched by prime minister Michael Savage and two other politicians, is seen shouting into a microphone, while below symbolic figures of the world, including the cartoonist, are disconcerted by the words coming out of the radio - 'Loungers! Scroungers!!', 'Street corner spittoon philosophers!!' , etc.
Extended Title - 'We are anxious that other nations shall hear the voices and messages of the New Zealand people' said Mr Savage, officially opening the new 60 kilowatt broadcasting station at Titahi bay, Wellington. It is anticipated that this institution will become the cultural centre of the Dominion for the arts of music and speech.
