Map showing the location of Middle King bivouac, below South King and Middle King, and above Mitre Flats, on the Wairarapa side of Tararua Ranges. Includes instructions for approaching the bivouac from Middle King peak and from below from Baldy Creek-South Mitre Stream. The Mitre Flats hut, Waingawa River and a new footbridge are marked, as are tracks (marked and unmarked), spurs, creeks, the bivouac forest, and Mt Baldy.

The four-man bivouac and new Mitre Flats footbridge were build in early 1970 (Jagger, Peter: Tramping in the Tararuas. Wellington, N.Z. : P. Jagger, 2006. p. 124-126).
