Shows a distant view of the town from the far bank of the Whanganui River. York and Rutland Stockades can be seen on the hills at the left, with the spire of Christ Church beyond the houses below. Shakespeare Bluff is across the river to the right. The peak of Mt Ruapehu rises in the distance
