Cars parked at Titahi Bay beach, Porirua, photographed in 1958 by an unidentified photographer for the Evening Post.
Caption - "Some of the 170 cars which had gone through the toll gate by 4pm yesterday. There was also a toll gate at the southern end much less used by motorists. With barriers north and south a large section of the beach is now completely free of moving vehicles." (Evening Post 29 December, 1958)
