- Description
Mill buildings to the right with a horse and dray standing outside and the mill-wheel beyond. A two-storied wooden cottage with a shed or lean-to behind, surrounded by a low picket fence, is on the left. In the background, below heavily-bushed hills is a single-storied cottage. There are barrels in the courtyard in the centre and a saw-horse and logs in the foreground.
The cottage and the cottage in the background are still standing in 1994. The background cottage, built in 1852, was C L Haylock's own home and has a Historic Places Trust "C" classification. It is being restored by the current owner, J A Galt. The mill buildings were pulled down many years ago - information from J A Galt, personal communication, 2 Sept 1994.
