Shows a view looking along a stream in a stony bed, towards a peak in the background. There are hills and native bush on either side of the view.
Dated ca 1880 because the artist moved to Nelson in 1870 and worked there until his retirement in 1903. He painted a number of views in the hills and mountains beyond Nelson
