Original owner was Caleb Robinson Tapper who leased the land in 1908. It was acquired by Jack Victor Tapper in 1919. In 2008 it was owned by his grandson Murray Wayne Tapper and wife Gillian. In June 2008 the Tapper farm was sold to Murray & Nikki Hawkings ending over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
In April 2008 the property was awarded the New Zealand Century Farm and Station award to mark over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
