Two ticket pads, partially used, of tickets to be issued on the Hutt Valley - Paraparaumu line, on 1 December 2003, the day of the world premiere in Wellington, of "Return of the King", the third in the film trilogy "Lord of the Rings" directed by Peter Jackson.
The tickets were available for unlimited rail travel between Upper Hutt, Paraparaumu and Wellington between 12 noon on 1 December and 1 am on 2 December 2003.
The $3 child ticket shows a head and shoulders frontal portrait of Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn. The $7 adult ticket shows Sam (Sean Astin) comforting Frodo (Elijah Wood).
