Original owner was William Adams who acquired the 15,000 acre run in 1853 which he named Langley Dale after his wife Martha Langley. In 2008 the property was owned by his great-great grandson Geoff Adams and wife, and great-great-great grandsons, Scott and Whitley Adams (under the name Coatbridge Ltd).
In 2008 the property was awarded the New Zealand Century Farm and Station award to mark over 100 years of continuous ownership by one family.
