The wreck of the ship "Hydrabad", Waitarere Beach, on 23 January 1905. Taken by George Leslie Adkin.
The "Hydrabad" was built at Port Glasgow in 1865, and commanded by Captain Holmwood. She was owned by Messrs. Stephens and Son, London. She was driven ashore in 24 June 1878, a mile and a half north of the Horowhenua River, between Foxton and Otaki.(Information from "New Zealand Shipwrecks, 1795-1982", page 186, by CWN Ingram.)
