Shows four vignettes, with a view of Mount Taranaki at the top; three uniformed members of the Armed Constabulary Field Force at the left; four uniformed members of the Colonial Rifle Volunteers at the right; and at the bottom a group of four Maori, two of whom are on horseback in European clothing. The woman on horseback is in profile, wears and top hat, and is smoking a pipe, after the fashion of the woman in William Strutt's "A group I once saw in Maori Land".
