Inscriptions: Recto - bottom left - Signed; Verso - "Church in which Sir Edward Stafford (3 times Prime Minister of New Zealand) & Mary Bartley were married on Dec 5, 1859" (Encyclopaedia of New Zealand p. 305 and Scholefield's Dictionary of New Zealand Biography p.321 gives accounts of the marriage taking place in England. Marriage certificate shows they were actually married at St Barnabas, Auckland, Dec 5th 1859)
