Portraits of four Maori, with a young woman standing on the left, dressed in a woven flax cape and tagged skirt, Hongi Hika standing centre, in a woven flax tagged cloak, a mere hanging from his wrist, Tuai standing right in profile, wearing a European suit, with a musket in his left hand, and another man, seated on the right, wrapped in a cloak. This last man is identified elsewhere as Te Rangi, the brother of Tuai
