- Description
Bird's-eye view looking south east taken from the vicinity of Elliot Street. Wellesley Street is just visible to the centre left with the clock tower of the Auckland Public Library showing above the roof of the YMCA building. Other identifiable buildings are the Auckland Savings Bank, the premises of Cousins & Cousins Ltd, Young Women's Christian Association, Mutual Life Insurance Society, People's Palace Dining Room (15 Wellesley Street). On the horizon in the centre is the Auckland Hospital. Mount Eden is just visible on the far right as well as One Tree Hill. On the horizon to the left are the two towers of the Palace of Industries (part of the Auckland Industrial, Agricultural & Mining Exhibition, 1913-1914).
