Subject: First Wairarapa flour mill, built by A W Renall between 1859 and 1862, destroyed by fire 1896; powered by water from Waipoua Stream. See: Thornton, G. New Zealand's industrial heritage, p. 33 (q725.4)
The four-storey flour mill building was built by Alfred William Renall (1813-1902) on the banks of the Makoura Stream in Queen St in 1858.
