Three mountaineers roped together and with ice axes and knapsacks on a rocky face of Mount Cook, unable to proceed any further. Loose rock is falling from the ridge occupied by the first of the climbers, who may be Green's companion Kaufmann. Possibly a close-up view of the same rock face as is shown on the previous page of the sketchbook (E-581-q-012).
