- Description
The Auckland Fire Brigade at drill in Beresford Street using the 85 foot Simon's ladder. Two firemen are up the ladder with a hose; the one at the top is aiming water over the building below. Other firemen and onlookers are standing on the street watching. Pitt Street Methodist Church is in the background. The construction site shed of J T Julian & Son, contractors, with a pile of rubble behind, can be seen in the middle foreground. Photograph taken by William A Price in 1912.
