- Date
- 1851
- By
- Gold, Charles Emilius, 1809-1871; Warre, Henry James, 1819-1898; Stokes, John Lort, 1812-1885

- Description
Shows a large walled graveyard on the lower slopes of a hillside, at the right in the middle distance. There are rocky outcrops on the hilltop.
Title Wairau War graves inscribed on verso. However the scene does not resemble the grave side at Tuamarina. The inscription is not in the hand of the attributed artist, Henry James Warre, or the previously attributed artist, Charles Emilius Gold. It appears to be a modern inscription, probably place on the back of the work by a previous owner.
May show a cemetery at Lyttelton.
Other Titles - Wairau War graves 1851 by Charles Emilius Gold, 1803-1871. Former title.
Inscriptions: Verso - bottom centre - printed title in a modern hand, in crayon 'Wairau War Graves, 1851'
Quantity: 1 watercolour(s).
Physical Description: Watercolour, 232 x 321 mm.
