The 29 Maori letters, from the Rev Hauraki Paora principally, deal with the preparation and dispatch of information to the Polynesian Society, Polynesian Society business, information about important Taitokerau leaders and about 19th century conflicts involving Taitokerau hapu and iwi; there are also discussions of Taitokerau whakapapa and the Maori division of time
Also contains six letters from S E Peal 1892-1896, and a letter from T Y Preston 1920.
