The paricipants reflect betting, men's and women's fashion, a man 'in from the backblocks', local personalities identified as Harry and Pa and a self-portrait of Low in a checked cloth cap, swallowing a glass (of milk?) 'Our artist won 2/3' [two shillings and threepence]
