Portrait of Mere Tupe-o-tu, of Taranaki, taken, probably in the late 1860s, by E S Richards of Wellington.
Inscription on PA2-1577 indicates that this woman is from Taranaki.
Inscriptions: Mount recto - beneath image - Mere Tupe Otu [altered to read "Meri Tupi Otu"]; Mount verso - top centre - Mere Tupe Otu
